Anduril Factory Reset

When playing around with an Anduril flashlight like the Emisar D4V2 or D4SV2, you’ll eventually come to a point when you’ve realized that you’ve fiddled with the configurations and no longer know what you’ve set them to.

What I do when this happens is I do a Factory Reset so I have a baseline for where I am rather than go through the different modes and menus to find out the state my light’s configuration.

Reasons for doing a Factory Reset

  • When getting a new Anduril light, you should do a factory reset to calibrate the thermal sensor
  • After a while of using your light, you may forget how you’ve configured it, so it’s easiest to just do a factory reset
  • After upgrading/flashing the firmware, you should do a factory reset

What will be reset

When you do a Factory Reset, the following will happen:

What version of Anduril is this for?

  • All versions of Anduril 2
  • Anduril 1 on versions later than 2019-07-15

Tailcap Method

This is the method I prefer to use, especially for the D4V2. For some lights with tail switches, I’ve found it a lot easier to instead use the 13 Click Method.

The steps for this method are:

  1. Loosen the tailcap
  2. Hold the button
  3. Tighten the tailcap and keep holding the button for 4 seconds

The light should flicker while getting brighter, then briefly burst to full power. Hold until it reaches full power to do a reset, or let go of the button early to abort.

13 Click Method

This method works better for me on lights like the Noctigon KR1:

  1. Ensure the light is Off
  2. Enter: 13H
flowchart LR A((OFF)) --->|13H| B[Factory Reset] style A fill:#000,color:#fff

The light should flicker while getting brighter, then briefly burst to full power. Hold until it reaches full power to do a reset, or let go of the button early to abort.
