Japan has a disaster alert app called NERV.

A HN user mentioned they were notified of the recent quake 45 seconds before it happened.

That’s pretty amazing. But also pretty amazing that there’s an app named after a ficticious organization from Evangelion.

The name and logo of “NERV” are used with the explicit permission of khara Inc., the copyright holder of the “Evangelion” series, and Groundworks Corporation, which manages the rights to the series.
