I’ve just finished Sailor Moon Season 1, Episode 19.

OK, now things are starting to make sense how this will scale with the cut-scenes. Rather than having to play out each one for each character, they can have characters show up already transformed. There was also a sequence in a previous episode where they weaved Sailor Moon, Mercury, and Mars’ sequences together, which helped it feel less tedious to me. Once in a while, I find it kind of nice to have a known sequence, it lets me quickly go grab a drink while I’m waiting!

Meanwhile, Queen Berryl continues to be so patient with her minions. When I see these Dark Kingdom scenes, I’m reminded of recent scenes from K-pop Demon Hunters where Jinu’s talking with Gwi-Ma. Is there a name for this trope of demonic villains hanging out in an evil lair, surrounded by minions who watch failure after failure of the leader’s henchmen?
